Day In The Life – Mom of 3 Under 3!

Well, well, well. A mom of 3 under 3. What could this life be like? Do toy want to know?! I am going to tell you! If you want to watch, find us on YouTube! I will link the video!

A typical day for me starts by getting up at 3am! Ouch! This is crazy early! I typically get up at this time to pump for the baby. If I don’t I will be hurting. She doesn’t usually eat at this time so this milk will go into storage.

For today’s DITL, it is a Saturday. So this day will be much different than a weekday! During the week I teach in special education at a local elementary school.

Arbonne Fizz Stick

Before I really get started on my day, I am making a drink by Arbonne. This drink is the pomegranate fizz stick. It gives you all of the energy without any of the coffee, haha!

Today my day starts with teaching for VIP

VIPKID Dino Doll

KID. I will teach from about 6am – 8am. This is enough time to get in about 3-4 classes. It might be exhausting some days, but I made $40 before my kids wake up! I can’t complain. If you have any questions please let me know. You can also apply here!

After I am done working I will begin making breakfast. The kids were already awake when I came upstairs and my husband got them out of bed and ready for the day. I almost always make a large breakfast on the weekends. I love to make a full breakfast. I feel like it sets us off on the right foot. We start by eating as a family, the kids are happy and full. To me, it makes a difference.

We like to use a Montessori style of learning and playing. This allows our children the freedom to learn and grow. They pick their own toys from a rotation of toys. They know they are required to put their toys away before picking a new toy. Montessori has so

many amazing qualities. Make sure you follow along to find out more!

Next, its time for lunch. It’s not the best quality meal, but the girls were begging for Lunchables. Lovely. They are happy and that is all that matters! After lunch is nap time. Kaylee will nap for a few hours, Maddie will not. The baby is hit or miss, it depends on when she gets up and how much she eats. I will pump around this time if I feel like I need to.

During nap time Maddie will be doing some educational activities with dad while mom takes a shower and paints her nails. I like to use Color Street nail strips. They are super easy to apply and have no drying time. They usually last me about 2 weeks before I have to change them again. I highly recommend them! The baby will play on the playmat I made for her.  During nap, we like to have a small snack. Today we made milkshakes!

After the nap, we’re off to the pet store. We are looking to see which animals the girls

At the Pet Store

like. We want to get them a pet for Christmas. We will probably get a fish, but the girls loved the birds and hamsters.

We decided to pick up dinner on the way home. We love this little Mexican place in town. It is seriously the best. We brought it home! The girls enjoy eating rice and chips. They asked for hotdogs as well.

After dinner, we have a dance party! Kaylee has been into dancing! She really likes the new readingabook.JPGdance video on Disney JR. We usually dance before we start our bedtime routine.

Our bedtime routine starts by reading a few books. We will read together before going to our rooms. The girls like to read and brush their teeth. Once they go to bed we will sing a few songs. They really like singing songs about going to the potty!

After all of this, it’s time to pump one last time. The baby went to sleep and I don’t think she will wake up to eat. So I am going to pump and go to bed!

Thanks so much for reading about my day! Please consider finding us on YouTube!

DIY Octahedron Mobile – At Home Montessori Education

Wow! 6 weeks old! I cannot believe my baby is 6 weeks old already! You know what that means? It is time to move on to the next Montessori Mobile!

Octahedron Mobile
DIY Octahedron Mobile

The next mobile in the Montessori Mobile Series is the Octahedron Mobile. The Octahedron mobile is for use around 6-16 weeks. It is certainly acceptable to use this mobile for as long as your child shows interest. If your child starts batting or playing with the mobile, it may be time to switch to the Gobbi Mobile, the third mobile in the series.

This mobile utilizes the octahedron shape. The shapes are made out of reflective paper. The paper I used is from Hobby Lobby. You can find this paper at most craft stores. I purchased paper with an adhesive backing. It is certainly up to you what you want to use. The reflective paper helps the infant see the shapes are 3D vs 2D like the Munari Mobile

This Mobile helps your infant with tracking and focus. This helps with the visual cortex. This helps your infant distinguish between colors. The previous mobile in the series was black and white. Your infant will now be discovering colors.

What You Will Need:

Reflective paper

Dowel Rods

Clear or White string

Hot glue or super glue

3 cutouts of the octahedron stencil

Octahedron Mobile DIY

Now Let’s Get Started

You can watch our DYI video or follow the instructions below!

The first thing you’ll want to do is cut out 3 of the octahedron stencils. You’ll need one for each color.

Next, attach the stencils to the back of the reflective paper and cut out the design. We used adhesive paper. If you do not have this, simply glue the stencil to the paper.

Next, fold the paper according to the stencil. Make sure to be as accurate as possible. Failing to make strong creases on the lines will result in the shape being distorted.

Next, glue along the folds to create the shape

Glue the string to the top of each shape

Attach the shapes to the dowel rods according to the reference guide. The sizes of the rod and string can change depending on how large you want your mobile to be.

You will have to move the objects back and forth until you’ve balanced them out properly. This can be frustrating so take your time.

Glue the strings in place.

Hang your mobile about 12 inches above your infant

Enjoy your mobile!

Montessori Munari Mobile For 3-6 Weeks

The Munari Mobile is one of the 4 mobiles in the Montessori Mobile set. this beautiful set i66155899_10157541831624674_1976403491303718912_ns black and white. This is because your newborn cannot distinguish colors. The black and white contrasting colors help your 3-6 week old develop focus. This helps your child develop tracking. Due to the black and white color, this mobile is not overly stimulating. It is the perfect mobile to start off your newborn with Montessori education. This mobile is beautiful and can be expensive. I decided to save money and make my own. Here you can find the steps I used to make this mobile. This saved me about $30 in the end. Of course,  you can always purchase this mobile online if you would like.

A Few Tips:

Place about 12 inches above your child

Place in an area where there is not a lot of air movement/wind

11 Weeks Pregnant

Oh man! This week has been rough! My anxiety is out of this world. I have severed self-worth issues. I feel like the worst mother in the world. I feel like my kids hate me. I feel like everyone thinks I’m a problem in their li48041582_10157048088269674_2926889829901795328_nfe. I know these things aren’t true but I cannot help it.

This week, the baby is the size of a lime. Baby is getting much bigger! Woohoo! We are having another ultrasound too. We cannot wait to see our little one again!

A new symptom this week is round ligament and muscle pain. As things start to grow they also stretch. This causes a lot of pain. Later on in my pregnancy, I will experience a lot of pain that may or may not put me on bed rest.

10 Weeks Pregnant

10 Weeks already! 1/4 of the way done! Where is time going?

In week 10, The baby is the size of a strawberry. Yum! Haha! Some of my symptoms are still the same. I feel like my headaches have improved. I am still very tired and hungry. Oh my gosh! I have to pee! I always have to pee! I get up 5-6 47128026_10157030099034674_2393012862294425600_n.jpgtimes a night. It is getting crazy! Send help.

My anxiety is so bad. I am making myself physically ill. I will be in the bathroom sick for hours. I am not a fan of this. It is very hard because I am staying at home with my two girls. I cannot leave them alone while I sit in my bathroom in missery. SOS!

That is about it for this week! Check back soon for more updates!

9 Weeks Pregnant

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Pop! My belly is getting bigger! 9 weeks is one of the better weeks! In this week baby has been promoted from an embryo to a fetus! The risk for miscarriage drops significantly.  Also, around this time the heartbeat may be picked up by a fetal doppler. I own a doppler but was unable to find a heartbeat. No worries! I have a retroverted uterus making it hard to pick up the heartbeat. 47233939_10157025114429674_1126284452444504064_n

In week 9, the baby is the size of a cherry. He or she is almost an inch long! I have the same symptoms from the previous weeks. Headaches, anxiety, exhausted, and hungry. One new symptom this week is heartburn. I experienced heartburn with my first pregnancy before I even saw a positive test. This time it hasn’t been so bad. I am anxiously waiting for the second trimester hoping I will see an improvement.

8 Weeks Pregnat

This week is always very exciting! Most moms to be haveus8 weeks their first ultrasound around this time. My first ultrasound was great! The baby is right on track and very healthy! What will it be? He or She? You’ll just have to wait and see! That’s right, we are not going to find out the gender of out little peanut. We didn’t find out with our other pregnancies either. I love the surprise at the end!

Today, the baby is the size of a raspberry! He or she is a little over half an inch long! Grow baby grow! You can see our little nugget on the right. The little white ball 46720533_10157018881564674_6854453838011695104_nis the yolk sack. The placenta has not taken over just yet.

I still cannot sleep due to anxiety. I get very anxious and have panic attacks at night. I am STARVING but I have no appetite. I am also experiencing headaches every single day. How frustrating. My migraine pills and preventatives are not safe for the little one. I am unable to take any of my medications while pregnant.

7 Weeks Pregnant

So, here we are in week 7. Baby is the size of a blueberry.

My symptoms this week are about the same as last week. I am exhausted and starving all the time.

I do have to say, I feel much better in week 7 with this pregnancy than my previous two. With my other pregnancies, week 7 and 8 were miserable. Like in bed, sick, couldn’t 46194092_10156988896239674_8146802887423426560_nmove, and didn’t want to see the world. This time I am feeling ok. I am happy about that!

I am starting to develop some unexplained anxiety. I seem to have nightmares and panic attacks at night with no explination. I am hoping it is from school and coaching but I can’t seem to find a reason for feelign anxious and stressed out. I am hoping it will pass. Time will tell!

6 Weeks Pregnant

It’s that time again. Allergies. Holy cow! Every pregnancy I get these awful horrible allergy symptoms. It is almost like having the flu or a really mise46277315_10156988882434674_2271180887968186368_nrable cold but with no relief. There aren’t many medications you can take to help. My prescription medications are not safe while pregnant. For now, I’ll have to manage.

There is no level of exhaustion like pregnancy exhaustion. I am telling you, if you have been pregnant you know what I’m talking about.  Not only am I pregnant, but I have a teething baby and a two-year-old who doesn’t sleep. My level of exhaustion is unreal this week!

I am hungry. So so hungry. Sometimes I am so hungry I make myself sick and then I don’t want to eat. Pregnancy can be weird sometimes. I don’t seem to have cravings but the one thing I LOVE that I absolutely cannot eat is Chipotle. This makes me sad.

That is really about it for week 6. Nothing crazy exciting is happening! Check back for more updates! Also, find us on YouTube!

5 Weeks – Pregnancy Update

Here we are at 5 weeks! 34 more weeks to go! I will be induced early at 39 weeks and no later. So I get to skip out on one week of pregnancy! Trust me, I am not complaining about that. Not even a little.

5 weeks started some new and fun symptoms. Joy5 weeks. I am TIRED. Like drop dead, can’t get up, can’t open my eyes, EXHAUSTED. Yeah, that’s a common symptom at this point. So I can’t say I am surprised. I am also crazy hungry. I can eat a full meal and 10 minutes late feel like I haven’t eaten in a year. I am starting to pee more frequently. Especially at night. I get up at least 3-4 times in the middle of the night. Exciting stuff isn’t it. Sigh.

Baby is the size of an apple seed. Baby is going to double in size over the next week. But the end of week 5 baby’s heart has started to beat. You probably can’t see it in an ultrasound though. Some people are lucky and do see it this early. I will not have my first ultrasound until 9-10 weeks. The baby looks like a little tadpole right now. It’s amazing how much it will grow and change over the next few weeks. I’m astounded my body can even create one child, let alone 3!

I have been eating healthy and watching my diet. I have cut out all caffeine, soda, and as much sugar and salt as I can. I eat an avocado every single day. This is a great source of folic acid for brain development. I also eat a lot of spinach and eggs. I will make sure to share some of the recipes I have created while pregnant. I’m sure you would love them!
